We are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of our flagship TV show, Neighborhood Favorites, premiering in January 2025 on WHUT Channel 32 PBS and PBS Passport. This series highlights the people and businesses that make our neighborhoods thrive, offering a behind-the-scenes look at their journeys and the impact they have on our communities.

Our Board of Directors
George Worrell
Founder & Executive Director , My Voice Media Group
George Worrell is a respected lifestyle expert, producer, and media personality with more than 25 years of experience in fashion, television, and community engagement. As the founder of My Voice Media Group, George is passionate about using storytelling to empower small businesses, amplify local voices, and inspire entrepreneurship through original programming.
He is the creator and host of the television series Neighborhood Favorites, which celebrates the unique character of Washington, DC neighborhoods by spotlighting local businesses and the people behind them. George also hosts the radio show insideSTYLE, formerly broadcast on SiriusXM, where he shares insights on fashion, culture, and purposeful living.
A long-time Washington, DC resident, George has built a career around authenticity, creativity, and community. His work has been featured on Good Day DC, Great Day Washington, and Martha Stewart’s SiriusXM radio show. In addition to his media work, he leads programs that provide career training in the creative trades, including upholstery and shoe repair, particularly for returning citizens and underserved communities.
George’s mission through My Voice Media Group is clear: to showcase real stories, support local entrepreneurs, and uplift the voices that shape our cities and culture.
Gabi Smith, Treasurer
Ms. Tina Roper is a native of New York who moved to the DMV to attend undergrad at Howard University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Maryland and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Trinity Washington University. With 25 years of experience in the District Government, she currently serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for a District agency.
An embodiment of servant-leadership, Tina is a dedicated public servant, entrepreneur, and mentor. With a steadfast commitment to youth and families, she has spent more than 30 years mentoring and strengthening community bonds. She is the founder of the WENner’s Circle—a community of female entrepreneurs who uplift, support, and coach one another—and is a certified life coach with the Love More Movement’s Transformative Life Coaches and Healing Leaders program. Furthermore, she serves as a parental empowerment coach for the National Center for Children and Families’ Out-of-School-Time programs and is a proud member of both the Prince George’s County chapter of the Top Ladies of Distinction (TLOD) and the Prince George’s County Section of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW).
A fun fact about Ms. Roper is that she has movie credits as a wardrobe director for two locally produced films. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and shopping.
